City of Elk River
Challenge
This was a two part project, Elk River was looking to leverage their stimulus dollars to improve indoor air quality in their city facilities and create safe environments for its users. They were also looking to improve the efficiency throughout the city and leverage those savings to fund needed deferred maintenance.
Our Solution
Apex completed an audit to qualify improvements for the federal aid they were receiving and also completed an energy audit and facility assessment to see what efficiency savings could be leveraged to fund upcoming capital items.
Final Result
A microbiological air cleaning system was installed providing a cleaner supply of air for both city employees and residents. The efficiency of building envelopes, lighting and mechanical equipment has been upgraded, which will reduce energy costs and save taxpayer dollars. And aging mechanical equipment was replaced which will save the city money that had been spent making repairs in past years.
